Type of assistance
The descriptions below are very general and the tasks you may be asked to do will vary depending upon the nature of the impairment that the person you are working for has.
The number of tasks that you are asked to do within each of the areas listed below may also vary due to the number of hours that an individual has employs you for.
Personal Care Personal care can include helping with washing, dressing and assisting with toilet use. Other tasks may include, pushing wheelchairs and other moving and handling requirements, assisting with domestic duties.
Domestic Assistance Can include general housework, laundry, ironing, , meal preparation and cooking.
Support with Activities Help with day to day activities including helping someone at work or ad hoc activities such as attending hospital appointments. It can also involve physically helping the person to participate, for example if they were attending gym passing them equipment or helping them on and off equipment. Depending on the persons disability you may to be required to drive them to the venue waiting outside if required, or attending the venue to offer personal care support or physical support of some nature.
Support with Work or Study This could include, filing, note taking. Assistance with any task they cannot physically do for themselves.
Other information Is there anything else you would like a prospective Personal assistant to know about you? e.g. particular likes or dislikes.
